An exciting and very special Handel chamber music double CD with lots of works that are difficult to find in the CD catalogues, including the first recording of the g minor sonata. HWV 364 in its original form for viola da gamba and harpsichord. The Cambridge Musick was formed in 1983, while all the members were students at Cambridge University, and immediately started winning numerous competitions in England and abroad and have since then toured all over the world. Andrew Manze, violinist of this highly praised ensemble, is the winner of this year's Gramophone award for non-vocal baroque music. Recorder player Robert Ehrlich has also won several international competitions and harpsichordist Richard Egarr has become one of the leading exponents of the keyboard today, also through his many recording for Globe.
