Van maandag 25 mei tot en met zaterdag 30 mei loopt de finale van de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd Cello 2026. Elke finaleavond vertolken twee finalisten het verplicht werk, dat speciaal voor de finale van deze cellowedstrijd geschreven werd door Fang Man: Odes to the Tidings of Flowers. Elke kandidaat voert als tweede werk een concerto naar keuze met het Belgian National Orchestra, geleid door Antony Hermus. Zoals al vele jaren is de ‘place to be’ de Henry Le Boeuf zaal in het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten (Bozar).
Elke finaleavond start stipt om 20.15 uur. Wie niet ter plaatse kan zijn, kan alles nauwgezet volgen via de website van de KEW waar alles rechtstreeks gestreamd wordt. Volgen kan ook via de openbare omroepen
VRT (VRT Max, Klara), en RTBF (Musique 3).
Terwijl het applaus nog weerklinkt in de zaal, kunt u op Klassiek Centraal de bevindingen lezen per kandidaat.
Na de finale volgt nog een artikel met een algemene beschouwing van het verloop van de finaleweek en mag u een interview verwachten met de winnaar.
