Exhibiting+very+changeable+characters%2C+the+%26quot%3BSix+Duets%26quot%3B+is+the+most+important+work+for+piano+four+hands+that+%3Cstrong%3ERachmaninov%3C%2Fstrong%3E+wrote%2C+but+unfortunately%2C+it+is+not+often+performed.%3Cbr+%2F%3EClaude+Debussy+composed+%26quot%3BEn+blanc+et+noir%26quot%3B+-+for+two+pianos+-+in+1915.+It+was+one+of+his+last+works.+The+title+makes+reference+to+the+white+and+black+keys+of+the+piano%2C+some+passages+played+entirely+on+the+white+or+black+keys.+Yet+Debussy+was+also+alluding+to+the+respective+characters+of+the+movements.+The+open+and+energetic+first+movement+and+the+sparkling+third+movement+%28dedicated+to+Stravinsky%29+correlate+with+the+notion+of+blanc%2C+while+the+dark+middle+movement+represents+noir%2C+Debussy+having+dedicated+it+to+his+friend+Jacques+Charlot+who+was+killed+in+the+First+World+War.+The+French+composer+%3Cstrong%3EMaurice+Ravel%3C%2Fstrong%3E+is%2C+like+Debussy%2C+also+considered+one+of+the+most+important+impressionists+in+classical+music.+He+often+reverted+to+traditional+classical+forms%2C+combining+these+with+influences+from+other+musical+styles+such+as+jazz+and+blues+and+various+kinds+of+dances+like+the+waltz%2C+habanera+and+bolero.+%26quot%3BLa+valse%26quot%3B+is+unique+and+compelling+from+the+very+first+tremolo+to+the+virtuoso%2C+almost+chaotic%2C+end.+Renowned+for+his+orchestrations+and+piano+transcriptions%2C+Ravel+arranged+his+original+orchestral+version+for+two+pianos.%3Cbr+%2F%3E%3Cbr+%2F%3EThe++Scholtes+%26amp%3B+Janssens+duo+is+well+known+for+their+brilliant+sound+and+marvellous+technical++skills%2C+presenting+very+intense+and+energetic+performances.+They+do+this+with+the+beautiful+works+of+Rachmaninov%2C+Debussy+and+Ravel+on+this+Quattro+Live+debut%21%3Cbr+%2F%3E
