Ann Veronica Janssens

Ann Veronica Janssens (Folkestone, 1956) is a Belgian contemporary artist who especially experiments with light and liquids. She lives in Brussels but is active internationally. She studied sculpture at La Cambre (Brussels) and has been working with visual and sensory art since the late 1970s.
Janssens is represented by Galerie Mennour, Galerie Micheline Szwajcer and Esther Schipper Gallery.

Janssens creates visual art, site-specific and immersive installations and is active as a choreographer and scenographer. She collaborated with Pierre Droulers and created light effects for choreographies by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.
In Janssens' installations and sculptures without fixed form (steam, mist, light effects, optical illusion, colours, sound), movement and the transition from one material to another are central. For her, beauty lies in that fragility.
