Jean Rondeau

Jean Rondeau (April 23, 1991) is a French harpsichordist.

From childhood and for ten years he was a student of Blandine Verlet. He continued his studies at the Conservatoire de Boulogne-Billancourt with Frédéric Michel for basso continuo and with Jean Galard for organ. He studied further at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris for organ with Corinne Kloska and Philippe Tambourini for piano and with Sylvain Halévy and Benjamin Moussay for jazz and improvisation.
He continued his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, with Olivier Baumont, Blandine Rannou and Kenneth Weiss, as well as at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Carole Cerasi and James Johnstone. He also attended masterclasses with Christophe Rousset in Siena and Florence.
In 2008 he won the Prize for harpsichord at the CRR in Paris and in 2009 the Prize for basso continuo at the CRR in Boulogne-Billancourt. He also obtained diplomas in counterpoint and composition at the CRR in Paris and a Bachelor in musicology at the Sorbonne.
After his studies at the CNSM in Paris he obtained the Higher Music Diploma.
He has begun performing as a soloist or with orchestras, in Paris and also in Italy, England, Belgium, Austria, Bulgaria, Latvia, Czech Republic and the Netherlands.
Rondeau is a member of the baroque ensemble L'Olimpiade and of the orchestra Les Ambassadeurs under the direction of Alexis Kossenko.
