Lucile Boulanger

Lucile Boulanger (Paris, 21 June 1986) is a French viola da gamba player.

Lucile Boulanger was five years old when she received her first viola da gamba lessons from Christine Plubeau. At the Conservatoire de Paris she studied with Ariane Maurette and obtained a First Prize in 2004. She continued her studies with Jérôme Hantaï at the Conservatoire de Cergy. In 2006 she received a First Prize for chamber music and continued her studies at the Conservatoire de Paris with Christophe Coin. She obtained her final diploma there in 2009.
In the meantime, she participated in various master classes and workshops, led by Wieland Kuijken, Anne-Marie Lasla and Philippe Pierlot.
She has performed with various young chamber music ensembles, such as La Sainte Folie Fantastique, of which she was a founding member in 2005. She also plays with established ensembles, such as Les Folies Françoises (Patrick Cohën-Akenine), Le Poème Harmonique (Vincent Dumestre), Les Cyclopes (Thierry Maeder/Bibiane Lapointe), La Chapelle Rhénane (Benoît Haller) and Collegium Marianum (Jana Semeradova). She also frequently performs as a soloist, especially with Bach recitals. She forms a duo with harpsichordist Arnaud De Pasquale. With the Consort Project she has been performing monthly since 2008.
In June 2009 she won the First Prize at the International Bach-Abel Competition, with two additional special prizes for best performance of works by Bach and Abel.
