Twan Bearda
Twan Bearda (1973) is a Dutch carillonist.
Bearda is from Nijmegen and studied engineering at the Universiteit Twente. He graduated in 2002 from the Koninklijke Beiaardschool Jef Denyn in Mechelen. He began his studies in 1991 with Peter Bremer and later took lessons with Eddy Mariën and Boudewijn Zwart.
Bearda participated in various carillon competitions and won prizes in Rotterdam (1996), Brielle (1999) and Groningen (2000). In 2003 he won first prize in the Koningin Fabiolawedstrijd voor beiaard. Together with Luc Rombouts, who is carillonist of the university carillon in Leuven, he has formed the four-handed duo The Bells Angels since 2000. Since 2009 he has been appointed carillonist of Grimbergen alongside Rien Aarssen.
