Wolfgang Glüxam
Wolfgang Glüxam (Melk, 17 November 1958 – Vienna, 29 July 2020) was an Austrian organist and harpsichordist.
Glüxam studied organ at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Alfred Mitterhofer and harpsichord with Ton Koopman at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam. In 1979 he won the Fourth Prize at the international organ competition held in Brugge as part of the Festival Musica Antiqua. In 1980 he was laureate in the international organ competition of Nijmegen. From 1985 onwards, Glüxam was a harpsichord teacher at the University of Music Vienna.
As a soloist or together with his musical partners (Patrick Ayrton, Erich Höbarth, Hiro Kurosaki, Pierre Pitzl, Helge Stiegler) he gave numerous concerts in Europe, Latin America and Japan. Austrian radio has several recordings of him, including Mozart's 'Sonates à quatre mains', together with Patrick Ayrton.
He died in 2020 at the age of 61.
