Performing music by Chopin on pianos from Chopin's time is a continuation of the tradition started by the great Polish musician Wanda Landowska, who became world-famous for performing Baroque music on the instruments it was written for and whom she brought back to the concert stage on the harpsichord. Now that more well-restored pianos from the Romantic era and high-quality copies of Chopin's period instruments are available, this tradition is expanding further. This makes it possible to perform Chopin's music with all the beauty as it sounded when Chopin first played his works. Increasingly, important musicians prefer to perform classical and romantic music on the instruments that Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven and Liszt loved. Among these pianists are Janusz Olejniczak, Krzysztof Jablonski, Paul Badura Scoda, Andreas Schiff, Sisters Labeque, Angela Hewitt, Leif Ove Andsnes and others.
