With 2500 visitors in nine cities and municipalities, Musica Divina also this year put the sacred heritage of the Kempen in the spotlight. Heavenly and healing music, that's what Musica Divina focuses on, now and in the years to come. The first and completely sold-out think and feel moment, organized on 18 September in collaboration with Huis Perrekes in Oosterlo, showed how there is more than ever a need for reflection and connection.
A glad heart … promotes healing. The motto of Musica Divina in 2022 was taken from Proverbs 17, 22. A festival theme that was reflected through heavenly and healing music in the inspiring religious heritage of the Kempen. With a programme that connected east, west, north and south with each other. In true joy there were indeed no boundaries.
During Musica Divina 2022, pilgrimage songs, songs of praise to all mothers, motets by André Campra and slow silences resounded. As well as angelic singing, music for theremin, North Indian dhrupad singing and throat singing from the steppes of Central Asia. A colourful bouquet that gladdened the heart.
In the 2022 edition, two partners were also celebrated: Cultuurhuis de Warande in Turnhout was allowed to blow out fifty candles and the IOK, Intercommunale van de Ontwikkeling van de Kempen and long-time structural partner of Musica Divina, celebrated its sixtieth anniversary.
