On the international Jazz Day April 30, Concertzender launches a second channel at 10.00 a.m.: World of Jazz. The first broadcast is a special episode of Co de Kloets inJazz Radio. Entirely in line with the mission of the new online channel, this broadcast is filled with live music from jazz band Narrative and fado singer Magda Mendes.
World of Jazz
Due to a renewed collaboration with Utrecht-based TivoliVredenburg, the first broadcast was recorded there. The ties with Dutch venues are important for World of Jazz. There is much attention for live performances and young talent.
On the new platform, jazz and world music in their full breadth can be heard all day long. Listeners come into contact with music that still falls outside their scope. With this, World of Jazz is a taste enhancer to get listeners out of their algorithmic bubble.
World of Jazz is distributed via as many internet channels as possible. For the future, work is being done on distribution via digital cable and DAB+.
Concertzender
On Concertzender, a broad palette of music can be heard, including world music and jazz. The programming on Concertzender remains intact. Earlier research by Concertzender revealed that especially for jazz there is no other radio station anymore. With the launch of World of Jazz, Concertzender fills this gap and offers a new platform where all jazz and lively world music enthusiasts can indulge themselves.
