MA Festival Brugge welcomes a new artistic director! Jan Van den Borre is no stranger to Brugge and the international early music sector. As a musician, he has performed with Collegium Vocale Gent, Anima Eterna and Vox Luminis, among others. In addition, he is intendant at Il Gardellino Orchestra, where he developed the beloved early music ensemble into an orchestra that stands in the heart of society and radically embraces its role as a contemporary baroque orchestra.

"MA Festival was my window onto the world of early music. I came to Brugge to hear what I could only hear there. The most beautiful music, played by the finest musicians, set me on a path I have not left since. The festival is iconic, internationally renowned and beloved and plays a leading role in the development of many young musicians. Brugge as a stage, meeting place and point of departure. I look forward to developing MA Festival further as a festival with a beautiful balance between tradition and innovation and with an open perspective on art and society." - Jan Van den Borre
