During the Video Experience Day, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen and video production company Zidis won the prize for best corporate film in the Corporate Image Non-Profit category.
In the video titled Oog in Oog, viewers are introduced to nearly all facets of Flanders' largest cultural institution to the strains of the overture from Tannhäuser by Richard Wagner. From the costume department, technical services, hair and makeup to dancers, choir and children's choir, musicians and soloists.
Various information is also provided, such as the 150,000 visitors the house receives each year across its 250 activities or the 30 different nationalities among the 450 people employed by the house.
The video was produced by video production company Zidis.
The award ceremony took place on June 4 at Kinepolis Antwerpen. It was the 25th time that the Video Experience Day, Belgium's corporate video festival, was organized. In the Corporate Image Non-Profit category, the Belgian Army and the Royal Museum of Fine Arts were also nominated. The prize comes with only eternal fame.
'But it is a nice recognition of how we tell our story,' says general director Jan Raes. 'Our employees are rightly proud of our house and we would like to share that with the outside world. Winning a prize for this is a nice pat on the back that we also owe to the makers of Zidis who brought our story to life.'
