The 19th Parcours d'Artistes Sint-Gillis takes place from 12 to 21 April 2024. The public will have another chance to meet artists and be surprised.
Maëlle Delaplanche, the curator of Parcours d'Artistes 2024, has asked the association Les Rencontres Saint-Gilloises and the Culture department of Sint-Gillis to take over spaces where people pass through, between public and private areas (lifts, entrance halls, shop windows, courtyards...).
The title of this edition,
What-connects-us, refers to the human dimension of the initiative and invites each exhibition location to explore in its own way the bonds between artists, designers and, more broadly, residents and people. In the Maison du Peuple, one of the city's cultural centres, an "artivistic" exhibition is being held with a political dimension that addresses the issues of our time, with works by Angel Vergara, Priscilla Beccari, Sandrine Morgante, Pascal Bernier, Joanie Lemercier, Léa Mayer and Karine Marenne.
Another special element of this year's edition is the focus on the work of Marcel Broodthaers. This internationally renowned artist from Sint-Gillis would have turned 100 in 2024. The Parcours d'Artistes will include various activities related to his work to honour him.
