Jiska Lambrecht is the fresh "Laureate 2024" of vzw SWUK Vlaanderen, an association that supports young classical musicians. She is the first violinist to win this prize, a cd recording.
The vzw SWUK Vlaanderen supports young, promising musical talent at the start of their careers. Each year it offers an exceptional musician the opportunity to record a cd. In addition, it awards study grants and prizes at competitions. Previous laureates included pianist Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort (laureate Queen Elisabeth Competition), harpist Anneleen Lenaerts (Wiener Philharmoniker) and harpsichordist Korneel Bernolet.
Laureate 2024 is young violinist Jiska Lambrecht (°1997) who has already been pursuing a beautiful career path for many years. Jiska is active on international stages as a soloist and in various chamber music ensembles. She is part of the Swiss CHAARTS Chamber Artists and is a member of Bryggen - Bruges Strings. She is first violinist of the Turicum Quartet with which she won second prize in September 2023 at the Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition in Poland (first prize not awarded). Since 2018, she has also formed a duo with Italian pianist Marco Sanna, one of the rising stars in the chamber music world. With his Trio Orelon, he won last year the two most prestigious international competitions for piano trio, Melbourne and ARD.
Jiska studied with Natasha Boyarsky (London) and Jolente De Maeyer (Royal Conservatory Antwerp). She obtained her master's degree in Solo Violin with highest distinction from Barnabás Kelemen (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln) and is currently preparing for the Solist Diploma with Ilya Gringolts at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. She also studies baroque violin there with Monika Baer.
