Belgian pianist Tom Kristiaan is nominated for the Dutch music award De Edison. With his album Petites danses et rêveries, he is the only Belgian artist in the race for the Edison Klassiek Publieksprijs.
25 million streams The album Petites danses et rêveries contains 8 neoclassical solo piano tracks, inspired by the dance world. The album has now accumulated more than 25 million streams on Spotify and is listened to in more than 180 countries. The popular track Un sourire et un larme (valse) was recently voted Lekkere Track on NPO Radio 4, during De Muziekfabriek.
Piano & Painting For the album and all album tracks, special cover artwork was created by Belgian painter Wannes de Vogel. For each track there is a corresponding painting, which Wannes de Vogel painted while listening to the music of Tom Kristiaan. They continue to give Piano & Painting concerts together in Belgium.
Piano & Photography In September, Kristiaan will release his fourth album Inspired By Nature. For this, he collaborates with Belgian nature photographer Wouter Pattyn. From Pattyn's latest nature photo book Wild van Europa (Lannoo), Tom used the most beautiful photographs for composing his music and the cover artwork. Each composition subtly conveys the atmosphere of the images: from the mystical vastness of Iceland, the grandeur of the Alps to the elegance of migratory birds from our Low Countries.
Piano and Nature The aforementioned music of Tom Kristiaan is and will be released on Piano and Nature. Piano and Nature is a neoclassical record label focusing on solo piano. Piano and Nature combines soothing piano music with breathtaking nature images. Additionally, Piano and Nature will plant a tree with every new release in 2023.
