From Friday 27 September to Saturday 5 October 2024, Den Bosch will be showcasing young vocal talent from around the world. The International Vocal Competition (IVC) celebrates its 70th anniversary and invites everyone to join in the celebration.
A History of World Class
What began in 1954 as a modest singing competition for musicians from the Benelux region has grown over the past seven decades into an internationally renowned competition. The IVC provides a platform for young singers on the brink of breakthrough. Participating in the IVC means more than just taking part in a competition; it is a springboard to a successful career. Many of the talents discovered here can be seen later on the biggest stages.

During this special anniversary edition, you can enjoy various concerts, in which music and talent take centre stage. The International Vocal Competition is not only a competition, but also a meeting place for everyone who loves singing and music. Friday 27 September | 20.15 | Pleinzaal
The festive opening of the anniversary week takes place with a beautiful concert by Bach Collegium 's-Hertogenbosch, conducted by Jeroen Felix. The programme features works such as Bach's "Zerreißet, zersprenget, zertrümmert die Gruft" and Handel's "Zadok the Priest", known from the Netflix series *The Crown*. This promises to be a musical evening full of surprises.

An exuberant birthday concert featuring Dutch IVC prize winners performing in a programme full of arias, duets and ensemble pieces. Pianist Hans Eijsackers accompanies the singers, and a special guest performance by children from Kindcentrum De Sprong adds an extra festive touch to this evening.
