Belinfante Quartet - Parallel 40

"Parallel 40" brings together music written along the 40th parallel north. With original compositions from Alessandro Scarlatti to Terry Riley and arrangements, the journey takes them around the world from Menorca via Italy, Albania, Greece, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, North Korea, Japan, the US and Portugal back to Spain. The Belinfante Quartet, known for its unconventional programmes, named itself after Frieda Belinfante (1904-1995), the Dutch-American cellist, conductor and resistance fighter against National Socialism.
