Beloved Arias

Liparit Avetisyan, considered one of the most exciting lyrical tenors of his generation, releases his first solo album on Delos: a crowd-pleasing program featuring acclaimed arias that the Armenian tenor has performed in major opera houses such as the Royal Opera House, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Opernhaus Zürich, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Semperoper Dresden, the Seattle Opera and the Teatro Colón. Accompanied by the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Constantine Orbelian, Liparit Avetisyan sings iconic roles – passionate, tragic and enchanting – from Donizetti's "Una furtiva lagrima" and Verdi's "La donna è mobile" to Puccini's "Che gelida manina" and Gounod's "Salut! demeure chaste et pure." As a tribute to the homeland of Liparit Avetisyan, this varied program concludes with Sayat-Nova's folk-music-inspired "Qamancha".
