Composer Marton Illes, born in 1975 in Budapest and living in Germany, studied with Detlev Müller-Siemens and Wolfgang Rihm. In 2020, he composed the violin concerto "Vont-ter" for Patricia Kopatchinskaja, a longstanding partner who performs his music with complete dedication: "She gives the impression that music can be tangible, truly three-dimensional, so much so that you could almost touch it, that each gesture has its own color, temperature, smell and taste," says Illes. "Sirt-ter", "Room full of tears", is a cello concerto: "I let it groan, scream or even hysterically roar to emphasize the vocal qualities that can convey human suffering." In Nicolas Altstaedt "I have found the ideal interpreter, who grasps the dark drama of this theme with existential intuition and lets it resound with primitive power". Rajzok I consists of tuning the strings of 24 instruments at different quarter-tone intervals. A very unusual and fascinating total chordatura... In Three Sketches, electronic music merges with the sound of the violin, thereby multiplying sensations and sound textures. Fascinated by the human psyche and the processes that take place in the human body, Illes develops music that lives, speaks and breathes.
