On 11 December 1891, the now elderly composer received an honorary doctorate from the University of Vienna. Two days later, the second, "Viennese" version of the Symphony No. 1 in C minor, which was dedicated to the University of Vienna, was premiered for the first time. This version appears as the 15th edition in the Capriccio series #bruckner2024. Markus Poschner conducts the Bruckner Orkest Linz.
