Although Peter Lehel is a true saxophonist, his fascination for strings was awakened when he heard the album Charlie Parker with Strings. With Coltrane String Ballads he now wants to present his personal sound color and melodic phrasing in a setting of saxophone with string quartet. For this he selected some numbers by Coltrane and composed an additional part for the string quartet.
