Entertaining listening pleasure It is not least thanks to Vivaldi and his ubiquitous concerti that the concertante principle found its way into chamber music. The Ensemble Bradamante documents how creatively Baroque composers dealt with the possibilities of mixing concerto and chamber music in a musical journey through Baroque Europe. There is, for example, one of Vivaldi's eccentric "concertos for soloists without orchestra", a concertante quartet by Telemann and two French trios that turn out to be disguised orchestral works. The joyful musicianship of the instrumentalists makes the cd an entertaining Baroque listening pleasure.
