Péter Eötvös, who passed away in March 2024, was one of the most important composers, conductors and teachers of our time. BMC releases here a number of archive recordings of the composer from 2022 and 2023 with three works that approach the traditional concerto genre in an unusual way: the pandemic-inspired Fermata, a reinterpretation of the viola concerto Respond and Cziffra Psodia, written to commemorate the hundredth birthday of György Cziffra. All works on this CD were conducted by the composer himself.
