The popularity of Mozart's "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" testifies to the unique elegance and refinement of the work, which remains one of the most popular classical music pieces. The transformative skills that led to this masterpiece have their origins in Mozart's travels as a young man, during which he absorbed various musical traditions. Also featured are the three delightful, original "Divertimenti" K. 136-38, which celebrate Mozart's experiences in Italy and provide a preview of the musical treasures that would follow. The works are performed by the Italian string orchestra I Solisti Aquilani. The orchestra was founded in 1968 and enjoys worldwide success today. I Solisti Aquilani have premiered works by many Italian composers, including Ennio Morricone, Marco Tutino and Marcello Panni. They have also collaborated with many renowned artists: Maurice André, Felix Ayo, Paul Badura Skoda, Hermann Baumann, Michele Campanella, Severino Gazzelloni, Jean Pierre Rampal, Angela Hewitt and Krzysztof Penderecki, to name but a few.
