Echos de la terre

Échos de la Terre, the debut album of the promising trio O3 on Cypres, is conceived as an acoustic journey towards the immensity of the world around us. Each composition is in harmony with one of the fundamental elements of nature. The element earth, which is mentioned in the title of the cd, is however not directly linked to one of the four pieces. It is rather the light (Fiorini) that appears as a decisive element alongside air (Kõrvits), fire (Saariaho) and water (Crumb).

Lydie Thonnard, Eugénie Defraigne and Lena Kollmeier interpret these complex works as if it were their mother tongue, bringing them to life through their mastery of unconventional playing techniques and merging their different instrumental voices into a harmonious whole that overwhelms the listener with unexpected joy and deep emotions.
