Floraisons

As a child, I felt drawn to practical activities. I spent whole afternoons doing origami, secluded in my room, following each fold meticulously. Although I often made mistakes, I was never discouraged, because the joy of transforming a simple piece of paper into something completely new fascinated me. I also had a passion for gardening. I grew beans, lentils and carrots and loved to see how my hands made seeds into budding, blooming plants. The processes of transformation, creation and wonder at the results are deeply woven into my work as an artist and teacher. One day my older sister Élisabeth introduced me to a world of sound that would profoundly influence the course of my life: it was Robert Schumann's 'Phantasietanz' Op. 124 Nr. 5 in E minor.
