Here is thus the juxtaposition of Schubert and Brahms, whereby Çakmur examines their late style through the lens of a simple formal structure (insofar as one can speak of a late style in the case of Schubert). Can Çakmur has already taken courses with renowned musicians such as Leslie Howard, Arie Vardi and Claudio Martínez Mehner at various academies and is a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, where he regularly participates in intensive weeks and other activities. Since 2015 he has been writing monthly for the Turkish music magazine "Andante".
Can Çakmur has already won numerous prizes. In 2014 he received the "EMCY Prize" from the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth at the "Pianale Junior" and was honored as "Young Musician of the Year" at the "Donizetti Classical Music Awards" in Istanbul. In 2018 he received the DAAD Prize for his "contributions to international life at the Franz Liszt Music School in Weimar".
For his success at the international piano competition in Glasgow he also won prizes at the international piano competition "Roma", the "International Franz Liszt Competition for Young Pianists" and the "International Balys Dvarionas Competition for Young Pianists". In 2019 he won first prize at the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan.
