Friedrich Theodor Fröhlich (1803-1836), who long remained unnoticed, is nowadays regarded as the most important Swiss composer of the early Romantic period. He left behind a large number of musical manuscripts that disappeared into private ownership and were quickly forgotten, although most have been preserved. Today his works are increasingly being rediscovered and made accessible to listeners.
