Liber Primus Epigramatum

First overview The little we know about Vicente Lusitano (ca. 1520-ca. 1561) makes him one of the most interesting musical personalities of the Renaissance: born as the son of a Portuguese father and an African mother, he was one of the first black composers whose works were printed. He became known as a composer and music theorist, whose Liber primus epigramatum with 23 motets was printed in 1551. In 1561 his trail was lost in Germany after he converted to Protestantism. Ensemble Arte Minima presents here the first part of his complete recording.
