Like Flesh

Trapped in an unhappy marriage, a woman yearns for a world beyond the boundaries of flesh and an existence free from the conventions of human society. The secret desire of a young lover causes an explosive metamorphosis, which restores the woman's freedom by transforming her into a tree. Sivan Eldar composes Like Flesh, his first opera on a libretto by Cordelia Lynn, a poetic fresco inspired by Ovid's Metamorfosen. A new ecofeminist myth about our broken relationship with an environment in crisis, performed by Maxime Pascal and Le Balcon, with electronic music produced in the IRCAM studios and live recorded by b•records at the Opéra de Lille.
