On the cd female composers from around the world color the playlist, from Europe to the United States. The ensemble selected the composers based on diversity in style and background, so that the album would become a reflection of the diversity within the current contemporary classical music scene. The composers were given carte blanche to write in the style and for the instruments they had in mind. That freedom resulted in unique works, with instrument combinations that rarely appear.
