The Quatuor Diotima celebrates the 100th anniversary of Pierre Boulez with a recording of his "Livre pour Quatuor". It contains, as a world premiere recording, the fourth movement (of a total of six movements) of the Livre, which the composer conceived in close collaboration with the members of Diotima and which was completed by Philippe Manoury after his death. This recording adds a fascinating chapter to Boulez' 'work in progress' and at the same time forms the conclusion of a central chamber work by Boulez, on which the composer worked from 1949 until his death in 2016 (with long interruptions). Since its founding in 1996, the Quatuor Diotima has been one of the most sought-after chamber music ensembles in the world and has worked closely with various of the greatest composers of the present and recent past, including Pierre Boulez, but also Helmut Lachenmann, Toshio Hosokawa, Alberto Posadas, Mauro Lanza, Gérard Pesson and Rebecca Saunders.
