Ludi Musici // 1621

1621 was the year when one of Europe's most influential composers exchanged the temporal for the eternal: Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck (1561-1621), who with his knowledge and craftsmanship inspired an entire generation of musicians. In that same year, one of his pupils – Samuel Scheidt (1587-1654) – achieved great success with his *Ludi musici* among the public. The recorder ensemble AS TIME GOES BY – A New Consort of Music from Vienna presents this music in an extremely fascinating and illuminating interpretation, which brings out the nuances and details of these lively compositions.
