Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco: Appunti

The Italian composer and pianist of Jewish descent Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, who emigrated to the US in 1939 due to fascist racial laws, wrote several masterpieces for the guitar. These include the Appunti, two volumes originally intended for educational purposes and written at the suggestion of musicologist and guitarist Ruggero Chiesa. The second volume was not fully completed before Castelnuovo-Tedesco's death. This recording is a journey through the collection. Some pieces have been arranged by performer Edoardo Pieri.
