Two polychoral masses from mid-17th century Rome (one for Easter, the other based on Palestrina's motet for Pentecost) complete I Fagiolini's impressive series, which explores colossal baroque and is a tribute to the lost music of Orazio Benevoli. Master of the Cappella Giulia in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, Benevoli demonstrates his mastery of spatial sound in these very different works.
