Mozart a Paris 1778

Mozart was 22 years old when he traveled to Paris in 1778 together with his mother. Although he was not as successful there as he had hoped, his visit to Paris was nonetheless a turning point in his personal life and artistic development. His disappointment in the Parisian public and the death of his mother resound in his piano sonatas, which through their intense earnestness reflect the state of mind of the young composer. At the same time, the castrato Albanese captivated the public with his romances, which also inspired Mozart. Arnaud de Pasquale takes us on a journey to Paris in the 1770s with an excellent replica of a Silbermann pianoforte from 1749.
