Passion, loneliness, nostalgia, world-weariness, escape, death - these are the typical themes of Romanticism. Konstantin Krimmel explored this era of extreme emotions already in "Saga", his first recital album (jpc 9453750). Now he delves even deeper into this cosmos together with pianist Ammiel Bushakevitz. "I simply love telling stories. As a child, I already enjoyed listening to old legends and fairy tales", according to Krimmel, who is indeed a wonderful storyteller and singer. The two artists have chosen songs by Franz Schubert and Carl Loewe, which embody these great themes. The two composers, both masters of the lied, had very different fates: Loewe reached the age of 72, more than twice as old as Schubert, who died at the age of 31.
