Noble Renegades

Tenor Charles Castronovo celebrates his first solo album on Delos with a complete Verdi programme that showcases the composer's fascinating use of theatrical means.

Noble Renegades offers a collection of complete scenes from operas such as Don Carlos, Luisa Miller and I Lombardi, which encompass the emotional arc that the protagonists experience as the story unfolds and which embody Verdi's vision of opera as true 'opera theatre' very well.

This album demonstrates the great influence of Verdi on Charles' career and contains roles he has performed all over the world. He is accompanied by "the singer's dream collaborator", Constantine Orbelian, and his Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra. The renowned singers Kristin Sampson, Tomas Pavilionis and Tadas Girininkas and the Kaunas State Choir are also part of the programme.
