O felici occhi miei is the first solo album of lutenist Eduardo Egüez on GLOSSA and joins a long series of releases by the label devoted to Italian Renaissance music. The poem on which the album's title is based refers to happiness and cruelty, harmony and disharmony - contrasts that are explored in the programme with music by five leading Italian lutenists from the first half of the 16th century. Egüez explores this warlike period in an elegant way with virtuosic fantasies and lively dances.
