Omphale

With stylish energy and excellent taste, Hungarian conductor György Vashegyi presents French Baroque masterworks that have largely fallen into oblivion since their premiere. His ensembles Orfeo Orchestra and Purcell Choir are based in Budapest, but are actively supported by the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles. The star ensemble Chantal Santon Jeffery, Judith van Wanroij, Reinoud Van Mechelen, Jérôme Boutillier and Jehanne Amzal bring together with these large ensembles Jean-Baptiste Cardonne's late Baroque tragédie en musique "Omphale" to life in a beautiful new way.
