Under the leadership of new principal conductor Stanislav Kochanovsky, the musicians of the NDR Radiophilharmonie have recorded works by Russian composers from the 19th and 20th centuries, namely the short symphonic work Prélude to 'La Princesse lointaine' Op.4 by Nikolai Tcherepnin (1873-1945), based on Spanish folk music with its lively rhythms, colorful orchestration and virtuosic solos Capriccio espagnol by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1844-1908) and Pjotr Iljitsj Tsjaikovski's (1840-1893) Orchestral Suite No. 3 in G major Op 55.
With this recording, the NDR Radiophilharmonie makes its harmonia mundi label debut.
