Peches de vieillesse

Rossini's six "Sonate a Quattro", which the twelve-year-old wrote during a three-day composition workshop, are full of brilliant musical ideas and fascinating passages, even if their formal polish may not quite match the classical tradition. Three pieces from the collection "Péchés de vieillesse", written more than 50 years later, explore the music of the present and future in the mid-19th century and his old friend and colleague Niccolò Paganini, who had by then passed away.
