Piano Works By Faik Bey Franz Della Sudda

Franz Liszt taught a number of pianists who later achieved world fame, but Faik Bey Franz Della Sudda was his only student from Turkey, whom he affectionately called 'The Pasha'. During his concerts in Europe, Della Sudda was praised as 'the most remarkable, graceful and brilliant pianist of this moment'. With his own lyrical, picturesque yet complex and unorthodox compositions aimed at the social elite, Della Sudda moved in exalted circles until he returned to Istanbul, where he ultimately died isolated and alone. These world premiere recordings of Della Sudda's piano music have been recorded by acclaimed Turkish pianist Zeynep Üçbaşaran.
