The Kontaxakis-Ivanovich duo invites you to an unusual encounter with Moussorgsky's celebrated masterpiece - in a version for guitar duo. Moussorgsky composed his pictures in honour of his deceased painter friend Viktor Hartmann. A visit to an exhibition became for him an occasion to reflect on the meaning of art, friendship and the hereafter. The version for two guitars, realized by the performers themselves, offers a refreshing perspective on the many colours of this music. A different kind of musical story is the suite Don Quichot & Sancho Panza for guitar duo by British composer Ronald Stevenson.
