With these works for accordion and orchestra, Ksenija Sidorova and Paavo Järvi pay tribute to the music of the Baltic countries: the Latvian and Estonian composers, who have been collaborating for more than 10 years, recorded in Pärnu with the festival orchestra founded by Paavo, a luxurious ensemble consisting of the best musicians from the largest European orchestras. Erkki-Sven Tüür's concerto titled Prophecy, composed in 2007, deals with the concept of the seer, a person who can see the future but is often despised by the society in which he lives. The concerto makes use of the full power and range of the symphony orchestra in complete connection with the soloist: "It is the technically most complicated work I have ever played!" says Ksenija. The concerto "Dances" by another Estonian composer, Tõnu Kõrvits, was written for Sidorova and premiered in Pärnu in 2024. The composer wanted to fully immerse himself in accordion music for his work and even learned to play the instrument ... he drew unprecedented sounds from it. The Fruit of Silence is the work of Ksenija's compatriot Pēteris Vasks. He adapted one of his pieces for choir and piano based on the words of Mother Teresa.
