Julian Walder (*2000 in Vienna) is a first prize winner of many international competitions, including the NYIAA - New York International Artists Association Violin Competition. He is Grand Prix winner in all categories at the Grumiaux Competition in Belgium and achieved 3rd prize at the International Henri Marteau Violin Competition in Germany in 2023. The "Chaconne" by Johann Sebastian Bach as a source of inspiration throughout many centuries is central to this CD. There were many trends and influences surrounding this fundamental Baroque work. The title of the CD "(R)-Evolution" contains the word 'evolution': In this context, this means that by adopting and using Bach's compositional techniques, his structures lived on through the centuries in many works. The "revolution," on the other hand, refers to the deliberate transformation of his formative style by other composers over time.
