Rebecca Clarke The Complete Songs

A collection of all songs written by British-American composer Rebecca Clarke. She wrote vocal chamber music throughout her entire career, from Wandrers Nachtlied, her first completed composition in 1903, to her revision of Lethe in the winter of 1976-77. Her songs and duets together form one of the largest and most distinctive contributions to the vocal repertoire of the twentieth century. Much of Clarke's vocal music has been recorded, but this album brings it all together under one roof, including a complete overview of the early songs (only Tears had been recorded before) and first recordings of Weep You No More, Sad Fountains, in the original solo version, and the epic Binnorie: A Ballad. There are a total of 22 world premiere recordings.
