Rediscovered

This album highlights the cello and violin concertos by Ukrainian composer Thomas de Hartmann, an important compositional voice of his time. With an international all-star cast, the recording not only seeks to restore de Hartmann's oeuvre to its rightful place, but also honors the musicians in times of war. The violin concerto was recorded in Warsaw with Joshua Bell and Dalia Stasevska conducting the INSO-Lviv Symphony Orchestra. They managed to leave their besieged country temporarily. Matt Haimovitz and the MDR Symphonieorchester Leipzig under Dennis Russell Davies are responsible for the cello concerto. The album was made possible by the commitment and generous support of the Thomas de Hartmann Project. Colorful and engaging music is thus made accessible once again.
