Silver Night

"Discovering Roslavets" is about the beautiful music of Nikolai Roslavets (1881-1944) and his fascinating life. For decades, attempts were made to erase his music from the musical canon. In "Silver Night", the debut album of the Brackman Trio and the first part of the series "Discovering Roslavets", Roslavets' unique harmonic innovations and his use of new musical structures are explored. Roslavets, often called the "Schönberg of Russia", pursued his own compositional path. On this album, Roslavets' trio is combined with one of Schönberg's most famous works. The album also contains the first piano trio by Shostakovich, which was composed at the same time and in the same place as Roslavets' trio.
